About the event
Join us on August 1 to experience an in-person demonstration from the real life heroes of the FDNY Marine Unit. Come out to have some fun and support your community!
Who can attend?
This event is open and free to everyone who is interested! Submitting an RSVP is preferred but not required. The beach is a public space, so bring your friends and family along with you.
What can I expect?
- Learn about how water safety rescues are performed during the live demonstration, learn water safety tips for your area and understand how to prevent unnecessary drownings
- Meet the heroic members of the FDNY
- Engage with the team from Rising Tide Effect and the participants of the NYCHA Swim Corps summer program
- Meet community leaders and participate in important conversations about water safety in New York
- Have fun!
Where can I find the event?
You can find us right at the beach at 63rd Street.
Should I bring anything?
Yes, if you prefer to sit on something bring beach chairs or a towel to hang out on for when the demonstration is happening. Don't forget your sunscreen and some water!
